Privacy, plainly explained.
Your cookie choices, browser preferences and the Level Lantern newsletter.
Your choice comes first
Optional personalization cookies start off. Choose “Allow preferences” or enable personalization in to remember your chosen game-finder mood. Choosing “Only essentials” leaves the site and game finder available.
What the site remembers
The first-party ll_consent cookie records your choice, its version and a timestamp for up to 180 days. If you allow personalization, ll_playstyle remembers your selected mood for up to 90 days, and ll_newsletter_pause suppresses the newsletter prompt for 7 days after you dismiss or open it. These cookies contain no email address or advertising identifier.
Change or withdraw your choice
Open from any page. Turning off personalization deletes the playstyle and newsletter-dismissal cookies immediately. Clearing site data in your browser also removes these choices. With optional cookies off, a newsletter dismissal is remembered in session storage for the current tab’s session only.
Saved games stay in your browser
Tapping a bookmark saves game identifiers in local storage under level-lantern-saved-v1 so the shortlist you requested remains available. The list is not an account and does not synchronize between devices. Remove games from the saved list or clear this site’s browser storage to delete it.
Search and personalization
Search terms and mood filters are processed in your browser. We do not send them to a search or advertising service. If you opt in, your last chosen mood can be restored in the game finder and used for its homepage shortcut. Articles, titles and canonical URLs stay the same.
The Level Lantern newsletter
We use Brevo to process newsletter signups and deliver emails. The form loads when you choose to open signup. If you submit it, your email address and affirmative newsletter consent are sent directly to Brevo for Level Lantern. Brevo also processes technical request and security information needed to operate the form and deliver email. We do not put your email address in our cookies, browser storage or page URLs. See Brevo’s privacy policy.
Confirming and ending your subscription
After you submit the form, Brevo sends an email asking you to confirm. You join the newsletter list only after you click that confirmation link. Your subscription allows game picks, guides and Level Lantern updates. Each newsletter will include an unsubscribe link; using it stops future marketing emails. Brevo may retain suppression and consent records to honor your choice. Email permission is separate from optional site cookies, so rejecting personalization does not prevent signup and changing cookie settings does not unsubscribe you.
Contact and email forwarding
For questions or privacy requests, email rooster@levellantern.com. ImprovMX forwards incoming messages to the studio’s Gmail inbox. Your email address, message, attachments and delivery information are processed by these email services so we can receive and respond to your request. Contacting us does not subscribe you to the newsletter. See ImprovMX’s privacy policy.
Videos from YouTube
Video previews and transcripts are served by Level Lantern. A YouTube player connects to Google only when you choose “Load YouTube video”; choosing personalization cookies does not load it. The player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain, but loading or playing it still shares request, device and viewing information with Google and may involve browser storage under Google’s policies. “Unload video” removes the player from this page and stops playback; it cannot undo information already sent. The choice is not saved for later visits. You can instead follow “Watch on YouTube” to leave this site. See Google’s privacy policy.
Analytics, advertising and hosting
We do not install analytics or advertising trackers of our own. Optional YouTube players follow the practices described above after you choose to load them. We do not use our personalization cookies to track you across websites. Hosting and access providers may process request and security information needed to serve the website, including cookies used by the hosting platform for access. Level Lantern’s controls apply to the optional cookies described above.

Google Play, Steam and publisher websites have their own privacy practices. Following those links takes you to their service.
